Job Description
Award-winning creative design and production firm seeks an entry level Interaction Designer (IxD) with a background in web technologies and a strong visual design sense. The Jr. IxD works with the Senior Interaction Designer and other project leads in establishing the overall user experience strategy.
The Interaction Designer will be expected to contribute to the business development process. They are key to defining the conceptual strategy across platforms such as mobile, web, interactive television and rich media application are often tasked with translating those ideas into supporting deliverables.
IxDs work with both the client and project teams to understand the business requirements, project goals and the target audience. The Interaction Designer is then responsible for defining functionality, content, navigation and interaction models through motion tests, site maps, wireframes, flow charts and functional specifications. Applicants should also be able to develop user persona and use-case scenarios and contribute to the development of content models, nomenclature and taxonomies. If the project involves a content management system, additional design work and documentation is required for the system and user training.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant Information Architecture or Interaction Design experience.
- Hold a degree in a related field such as design, architecture, cognitive sciences or technical communications.
- Have excellent oral, written and visual communication skills.
- Experience with content management systems, gaming, applications, and interactive television are a bonus.
- Fluent in the use of InDesign and familiar with Omnigraffle.
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn Visio, Dreamweaver and Illustrator.
- Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and Web Standards is also a plus.
