Project Overview
Funny Garbage is honored to have been chosen by the prestigious New York Blood Center to relaunch their public site.
NYBC is a very large organization, supplying vital support to the greater New York area in times of need. To provide them with the best possible site, we conducted in-depth interviews with the various stake-holders of the new site to determine the needs and priorities of each division at NYBC.
We also performed a much-needed content audit of their existing site in order to determine the new site’s architecture and design. Working closely with the NYBC staff, we were able to develop the appropriate mood and voice of the site’s visual style and editorial tone.
The primary goal of the site, of course, is to encourage visitors to support the organization by donating blood. To accomplish this, we provided clear routes to their web-based scheduling application, and created a home page Flash feather to promote events, encourage donations and alert users of shortages in the blood supply.
Funny Garbage applied it’s custom Content Management System solution to the backend of the site, along with easy-to-use edit tags on the front end for editorial staff to easily access points in the backend where they need to edit content.
