Funny Garbage: 10 Years of Making the Web Worth Watching

CamTV

Funny Garbage Original Properties

Project Overview

Funny Garbage has consistently proven its ability to not only recognize, but anticipate trends in popular culture and consumerism. With a keen understanding of the public's consumption of video information, FG developed CamTV, a service that transforms any computer or television into a doorway, camera and rotating art gallery.

Originally conceived as an online broadband application, the service could also make available to cable television subscribers the transmissions of thousands of cameras positioned in interesting and informative locations around the world.  As a multifaceted application, the CamTV experience can be unique for every user, whether used to soothe, entertain or inform.

Someone seeking a transportive ambiance -- be it the meditative calm of a Maui sunset as Pacific waves tumble ashore, or the majestic lights and indefatigable energy of Times Square -- could transform their television into living art, a framed masterwork bursting with vitality.  Viewers with a more utilitarian application in mind could access local views for information: peek at a live traffic feed before hopping into the car or check out the line at your favorite restaurant.  Presenting to an audience with piqued interest, sponsors and advertisers could easily bundle and deliver related  promotional packages to the viewer.

Whether satisfying the wanderlust of the traveller-at-heart, providing a beautiful and inspiring visual backdrop, or keeping the inquisitive in-the-know, CamTV is a powerful and viable new form of video offering.
