Funny Garbage: 10 Years of Making the Web Worth Watching

The Si Network wanted to blow up. They chose Funny Garbage, and our experience in building successful cross-platform networks, to provide the pyrotechnics. We conceptualized, architected and constructed a powerful online network of interconnected websites functionally independent of the cable station to extend and strengthen Si Network's identity.

Searching for an infusion of fresh and authentic voices, the Si Network sites concentrated on forming, growing and maintaining a tight community of talented young artists and personalities. Essentially a digital talent agency to find and promote emerging Latino talent, the Si Network sites afford young entertainers, artists and writers the tools to find and grow an audience.

Built upon a highly-customized installation of the Drupal framework, the Si Network websites present users with multiple content types and opportunities for participation through applications such as blogs, rating scales, polls, message boards, user profiles and media uploads. FG’s technologists utilized AJAX, Flash and Brightcove streaming media technology to construct a custom video player capable of maintaining persistent playback independent of any other activity in the browser window: an FG-developed feature unique to the Si Network online video player.
